That's bellhousing to engine adaptor, whereas Chris' type 9 adaptor is bellhousing to gearbox. Nice thought though ;)

I saw that, the Ford boys are fitting them to Escrots for five or six gears depending on whether early or late gearbox. You would need a bell housing adaptor for the early gearbox or a new or adapted backplate for the later gearbox. With prices of Type 9s really going through the roof lately, people are looking at alternatives now.

iirc the RX8 has an Aisin Warner 6-speed box, similar or the same as used in the MX5 (mated to Mazda MZR aka Ford Duratec) and various rwd Honda, Nissan, Toyota and Holden.

In the UK the RX8 had a five speed box from 2003-2008, it has a removable bell housing.

Then from 2008 onwards a six speed box was fitted. The bell housing is integral to the gearbox.

Hi
the 6th gear ratio is the same as a ford type 9 5th gear ratio
1 gear is lower than the ford
so for this to work you need a higher diff ratio
or you can fit a overdrive to the ford type 9

Chris
Mazda made two 5-speeds, a smaller one for the MX5, and a larger stronger one for the RX8. They trace their histories back to the '70s, iirc the smaller one was for the 12a rotary and under 2-litre 4-cylinder, and the bigger one was for the 13b rotary and 2-litre+ 4-cylinder. The MX5 box also has an integral bellhousing.

iirc the 6-speed was used in late Nissan Sylvia, Lexus IS200, Honda NS2000, and Holden Commodore V6 in Aus.

MGB axle swap would be useful then?
You've got the choice of 3.9:1, 3.7:1 3.3:1 or 3.08:1 and two axle case widths.
