Made it - despite setting sat nav to wrong Premier Inn.

Gil -How, where did you lose the transmission fluid? Something not tightened up, after last fluid flush?

When changing g/box oil, removed sump to get at filter, lost small piece of sump gasket, so used blue hylomar on missing area ( about 2 inches) looked OK no leaks....
But having stopped off at oxford services to meet Andy found a pool of ATF fluid...it was leaking at my missing gasket area...
Looks like once hot its melted the hylomar...
My silly fault....so back home by 3pm... well tried plan A & B....
Plan C was return in modern ..... ( rejected) so now plan D.... Found B/W 65 was used on jag
XJ 6 ..Phoned David Manners west Bromwich & got 1... so collected last 2 of them &did the job properly this time, so will try again early Sat am....
Fingers crossed, Gabby rides again....

Supercheap Auto had a sale - 25% off everything. Bought a few of things for Ozzy - a pair of wheel dollies to make moving Ozzy sideways easier, a tin of Killrust black enamel to finish painting the floor inside (Ben had painted 3/4 of it), and a Century NS60LSMF 430CCA battery. Should do nicely.

I'm getting really fed up with the stuck clutch on my Marina. Spent another day fitting the rebuilt calipers / connecting all the lines and bleeding the brakes (yeah - I have a great pedal now) also replaced the front tie bar bushes with polyurethane ones (as the originals had turned to dust)
While this was all going on I had the clutch depressed with a bar and the engine running with it in 4th gear. I've done about 10 miles now like this and will the clutch free off !! not a chance, i've read all the 'how to's etc' The only thing i've not done is drive it around as I live in surburbia and it's not practical.

So it's time to bite the bullet and remove the box ??? I cant see any other option, I need to see whats going on. As a last resort and as the original clutch pipe keeps dripping, i've bought a new clutch pipe so i'm going to fit that and rebleed the clutch and see if that helps.

Out of interest how far should I expect the clutch arm to move? and if I do end up taking box out what sort of time scales am I looing at? it's looks pretty straightforward. I'm so close now with this car that with the clutch fixed and a very minor bit of welding it's ready for the MOT...
