Personally I wouldn't spend that much on a rotten shell with no engine and gearbox when there are other cars out there for the same money in much more saveable condition however it's your choice and if you do it I will only admire you for it

Crazy money, a Marina shell is less than £50 in scrap at the moment and there's nothing on it that he could sell for that amount!

If it were a '71 DL J reg you would. :-)JoshWard wrote:Crazy money, a Marina shell is less than £50 in scrap at the moment and there's nothing on it that he could sell for that amount!

The car obviously has some meaning. What other MK3 coupes are for sale?

Yep I would, which is why I said I'd admire it! Last MK3 coupe sold on eBay a couple of days ago not many about but have seen quite a few sell in the last few years and all in a better state than LDF but if you love it then buy it. Once it's gone it's gone forever.

Re: LDF 532V Anyone know where it is now?
Thanks for the advice Josh, I don't think he will budge yet but I will leave it for a while and see if he has it in a few months maybe, I do really want to save it but again I remember the amount of body damage and the money I will need to put into it I don't think it will be worth it. I'm on the lookout for a coupe or coupe shell if anyone does have one though. As much as I like my saloon, I have room for a coupe... And at least if it doesn't have an engine my folks can't tell me to move it

That's a shame, I wonder why he was so desperate to break the car to just list the parts for 99p when he could have sold the lot and just cut his losses? Looks to have been battered a bit more from when I last seen it.
It will probably end up on ebay again as one lot as I can't really see much being picked off it, there wasn't much good left to start with!

You find when cars go to breakers yards they get battered and knocked about, it was probably pushed there with a forklift.

Re: LDF 532V Anyone know where it is now?
I wrote to them this morning enquiring if the rear parcel shelf was any good as mine has some sun damage also if I could have a fan switch and a hazard switch all posted to my address, the parcel shelf is good and he will throw in the switches all for a measely £150.00 incl postage......for a rear parcel shelf I don't think so, I wrote back and asked if he was on drugs or some other substance but have not had a reply as yet.....
that'll ding dang do for me !!

Hahaha I can't remember that much being good inside either so I doubt the parcel shelf is actually in good shape! I think the only good cards were the rear ones beside the rear seats, the rest of them were pretty worn... To have one fabricated will probably cost about half of that!
