Removing the fromt quarter window

Post by btorvestad » Thu Feb 07, 2019 4:24 pm

Does anyone have a good tip on how to remove the front quarter window? I just need to remove the chrome below the window really but it seems to be fixed with a screw or nail below this small window. I have removed the wiper seals, clips and all that on the large window in the door but struggle a bit to get further.

You will probably need to drill out the rivet in the top of the door frame holding the front part of the window frame and move it in the direction of the rear of the car to allow the quarter light to be removed.
If you have opening front quarters you can get them out with out doing the above.

Its not easy and there is a small self tapping screw that secures the chrome trim.
From memory the window winding channel has to come out too.
If you have a haynes manual and follow the instructions its fairly easy but you may need to grind off the screw and replace due to rust.
