3 tests 3 passes Result :) although one rear light bulb blew on the way to the test center (nice MOT man replaced the bulb for me for free :) ) there was a small blow on the exhaust of another (the one without a stainless system) which he said wasn't bad enough for a fail and borderline for a advisory but as i said i was about to buy a stainless for it so ignored it .. nice guy who understands classic cars 1st Marinas he'd tested and got 3 on same day one after another lol ) now for insurance one due this month another next month :( got one renewal in.. gone up again. had one quote from the company i moved blaze over to in march and they have already beaten the renewal by £30 .. looks like their going to have 2 of my Marinas very soon ;) they appear to want my business.. unlike the company I've been with for over 30 years with only 1 claim 20 years ago

on the leak front once you find the leak we've got some great spray on stuff that seals the smallest of leaks i'll find it up and post the name up for you ;)

Filled the mumford up with petrol, for the first time since I've had it. Refitted some original TC wheels I recently refurbed in preparation for the Bromley Pagent of Motoring on Sunday.

I've never been a fan of the TC wheels :shh: , but they look really good on the Mumford.

Nice one Eamonn! Can't argue with that.

I've dried up the remaining puddle, with the forcast for tomorrow we'll see if it comes back, or if I'd just missed drying it up from the previous soggyification!

Mumford looks a lot nicer on the TC rims I must say 8-)

My estate came back today after being on loan to my sister for a week after her car burst its steering rack. She's put just over 800 mile on it in a week and said she loved it. Her modern is a 2.8 4 motion golf by the way.

Pushed Ozzy out onto the drive, while SWMBO sorted the junk in the garage. Just about made enough room to fit both cars back in.

When it came time to push Ozzy back in, turned the wheel to get a bit more lock on and the steering lock activated. Buggered if I could get the thing to unlock again. :frown: Tried all three keys (one fits the boot, one fits the doors, the other must be for the ignition?), but none would unlock the steering (even with wiggling). Worked OK when we moved it from Ben's lockup (although Ben put the key in the ignition then). Been 30 years since I've steered a Marina, have I forgotten a vital step in the starting procedure?

Hi Bryan,

I know I'm stating the obvious but I'll do it anyway, if the steering is loaded against the steering lock then it won't unlock (Mechanical). This often happens to me and I just pull the steering one way or the other until it is not hard on the lock, and then the key turns and it unlock.

Thanks, Brian, I'll give that a shot tomorrow.

There are some BL ignition barrels that have a little button that you have to press in. No idea if they made it on to marina's though?

... but that's to to take the key out of course, not turn it once it's in ;)

Cut a bit of the new paint back in the saloon's engine bay yesterday, didn't go on as nicely as I'd hoped and it's not a perfect match but at least it'll keep the corrosion at bay, I might get it done properly in a few year's time. It's only where the battery & brake master cylinder have both leaked- it's good otherwise.

Also got the manualificated pedal box back in 8-)

Went to Swanton Morley today, numbers were a little down on usual but still a pretty good turn out!

The Coupe is going well, covered about 400 miles in the last week or so, overheating problem seems to have vanished as well

Saw Eamonn's saloon for the first time. Lovely car with mint brown steering wheel and dash! Yum!

I was pleased to see a Wild Moss Landcrab, previously belonged to Ian Spooner

We then had a Teal Blue 1.3 SDL Saloon fest

I then appeared to have been crowned 'King of the Marinas'

Can anybody tell me more about this award? Nobody seems to know who Patrick Cooke is/was!
