Had a little time today. Fitted my mini cooper pancake filters. Routed the washer tubing and jets. Fitted polybushes to my spare eyebolts in readiness for my upcoming mot. At the same time i removed the sherpa shock absorber bushes as they differ in fixing diameter to the woodhead tele kit . Im guessing that some landrover poly ones may fit . Plentiful and cheap. Bit on the tight side to fit but soaking both the bush and eyebolts in very hot water helps.

Turns out it was the leaf spring after all
Oh well, my run of good luck with PTH had to be counter balanced somewhere

Can you claim from the council for repairs, or sue the council for supplying a road that is not "fit for purpose"?

Never thought of it really

The road has only just been laid (widened) due to an increase in pupil numbers... though I have pointed out the humps are designed for trucks NOT cars! I know that much
Our local Tesco had them and after a barrage of complaints they replaced them with larger ones (the type you see everyday on the road)

Big day Saturday.
My red estate developed a problem with the auto slipping in top gear. I know what that is - but it requires a total strip of the auto and I do not have the time right now.
As I am stripping another 2 Litre unit, I decided to swap engine/transmission as a unit.
Did that two weeks ago, but there were a few other issues.
Such as;
Rear axle - both half shafts moving in the wheel bearings
Prop shaft - centre bearing collapsed plus one universal shagged
Both front brake lines cracked
Speedo cable queer
Exhaust leaking through a hole in the header
Blah blah woof woof...
Have now swapped entire rear end from donor car, including speedo cable, fitted brand new prop centre bearing, fitted another entire exhaust, still brake lines to do and will swap out entire brake master cylinder/booster.
Tonight looking like this..
In other news - was working today on a series I XJ6 which was masquerading as an XJ5. Got it sorted and here it is parked next to my 1905cc B series Mk3.
The Marina sounds best...

That colour really suits the Jag

. Is it the same burgundy as one of your Marina's?

No - slightly more of a bronze quality to it.
Have not sighted the maroon Marina since it sold...

If it ain't one thing it's another

Driving along the carriageway and I here'd this 'cliink' and the car just died! After a good look I found my distributor cap had smashed to bits! Looks like a stone catapult itself up in the direction of the cap.
Had to be towed home as the spare cap I had was for the earlier type distributor

Unbelievable

I think I changed the cap along with the points not too long ago to be honest.

I didn't do nothing to my Marina today... I'm still crying from what my girlfriend did to it last week
While coming back from Christmas shopping a bus had stopped outside our driveway and my girlfriend miss judged the gap and gave the bus a good old kiss on the way in! It's only a car and no one was hurt so not all bad.... I have another

Oh well, I don't have the time or money to even think about fixing this so REP may be up for sale in the new year so I can concentrate on finishing PTH.
Merry Christmas to everyone here and thank you all so much for the help and advice you've all given me
I'll speak to you all in the new year when hopefully PTH will be looking all shiny and new with a fresh MOT.... and far away from any bus stops!

Oh no

Glad to hear everybody is OK

Typical that it didn't happen before you had nice shiny new paint!
If it's money you need you could always sell PTH
Hope you and your family have a good Christmas
