Today's progress
- Removed fuel tank
- Cleaned it out (took ages as it was full of muck)
- Painted the top of the tank with stonechip and painted the bottom once refitted
- Renewed the rest of the fuel line
- Welded bits of the exhaust and welded a broken rear exhaust hanger then cut the tail extension off it
- Renewed the tie bar bushes and 1 tie bar
- Raided the stores at work for nuts and bolts
Then took him for a drive!

Hi Sean ver very intersting you are having problems with your fuel lines. Three times Bumbles hose split. at the top. Sorted it the last time then got home only to discover it had split again!. By this time i was running out of hose but i knew i had some at the shed. Managed to get it cut and fixed or so i thought. Got half way to the shed bu this time i was on the ,main road rather than at my front door, she cought and cut out followed by v strong smell of petrol. As i have been in a car fire before i v v quicly cut the ignition and jumped out and popped the bonnet. This time it was at the bottom of the hose that had split. Anyway bodged it and got to the shed. Opened bonnet petrol every where again!. Eventually i had to temporary canablise Roland to get bumble going. I got a new hose which worked fine. However either the petrol is affecting it or, i routed it the wrong way as it was still leaking a bit. However i have rerouted it again and i will see how it goes.

Fitted new poly bush into steering rack today and fitted nice new gaiters and poly mounts.
Started fitting it in the car but was delayed by rain. Mounts are in, but I was struggling to get the pinch bolt in, hope I've got the pinion in the right place....

You would be better off just replacing the entire fuel line Michael as the rubber will have deteriorated. Its a simple job and can be done for about a tenner if you do it yourself.
