I have a friend with a tow bar who had some twerp with dodgy brakes smack his car in the rear at traffic lights, result, no damage to him, smashed bumper and radiator on the new Iveco van that ran into him. A tow hook is very useful for towing as well as providing improved safety when towing additional rear end protection especially in low speed impacts.
I actually think Marina saloons look better with a tow hook, and that space between the rear lights is as good a place as any to put the rear numberplate

I might keep it.... I could see me needing to tow a trailer in the future as it would help with my other hobbies (oily old British motorbikes and vinyl records)

I really had high hopes of you getting a proper Marina / Ital with all those pickups on the Bay lately. Now you will only be able to dream of a Mans car.

Yes your correct Sean,you must pass an additional test to tow a trailer or a caravan if you passed your driving test after 1st January 1997..

Its just a ploy for the goverment to ring more money out of you. Thank god I have the licences I need. My driving lessons were about Ã‚Â£7 when I learned to drive, whats the going rate now? it must be around the Ã‚Â£20 mark

How local does it need to be? I travelled 150 miles by train with 3 changes to buy my pickup in Leeds.
If you want one bad enough you'll travel to get one!

Could be Jimbo...perhaps the "real mans vehicle" is really a big disappointment when it comes to wooing the ladies...all that cold steel in the back, perhaps they would prefer a nice comfy seat with a fold down armrest!, and a roof to protect them from the weather
