It seems to have been sorted now!
I took the fusebox out ( leaving the loom connected) and sanded all the contacts. Then i pinched the contacts on fuse number 1 slightly closer together.
I had purchased an in-line fuse to replace fuse #1, but there were half a dozen wires coming out of the top it, so i said I'd leave well enough alone.
The ignition light might come on to warn you that the stop lights and indicators don't work with this fuse blown?
