8" would definitely foul the guards both ends.
7" may contact the left rear guard slightly when the suspension is compressed - inner edge needs rolling slightly - front needs slight modding inside the lower leading edge.
Neither mod is apparent from the outside.

So 7" rims require a little gentle tweaking for clearance (think I recall reading that in one of your other posts  ), but 8" rears will require a bit of flaring for clearance. So those TR7 15x8 rims would be just a tad too wide for easy fitting.

If only the van for sale on Trademe was a 575 not a 440, I could fit the 13x7 114.3 PCD Superlites also currently on Trademe. :(

Wonder if a panelbeater could ease the wings out enough to clear 8" rims, without spoiling the looks?

The 13x7 on my van are fitted with 195/45r13 tyres so no clearance problems at all, trouble is the gearing is soooooo low now!! :D

Have you tried adding Mk1 hub caps? Could look funky.

195/50x15 should be ok on 15x7 rims, then :D . Gives about the same gearing as 205/60x13 (and 175/70x13 and 155/80x13).

Lovely stuff Peter - keep the photos coming.. :)
.. and you answered my question about the superlites - funny that the lower profile rubber makes the rims look bigger diameter.

Bryan - in answer to your musings re 8" rims - I think they would be the ultimate mate..!
Obviously, most of the width would need to be outwards, but I feel there is enough leeway in the guards to allow a little rolling.
I reckon a Marina would be as stable as a citroen light 15 on 8" rims..!

If I can get more than 150BHP into one, I'll factor the expense of 8" superlites as well.

Cool stuff guys.
