I got a decent quote for a 30 foot by 20 foot metal garage, but my bricklayer brother is home on December 7th from Canada and looking to come stay with me in the countryside for a few weeks. He's offered to do some work to keep himself busy, so that might be an option too.

Just an update on this.
There's also a leak in the front somewhere on the passenger side, presumably the windscreen seal.
i was going to silicone it, but my mechanic told me a mate of his works in the local windscreen place, and sent me there.

they told me that some silicone sealants have an acid in which can rot the screen surround out!

So read the ingredients!

Yes you are correct some do have corrosive substances within the silicone. But if you use 3M windscreen sealer there should be no problem!
I am sure if you use the correct type for the job then that is fine.
I got some in the garage but I am sure someone on here will know the correct type probably before I go and look!

Paul.

Hiya Paul - the lads in the windscreen place did it for me in the end and I got to go off and get lunch while they struggled with the trim etc!

guess what, ive got the same problem with mine too, ive had the dash board and heater box out of it for about a week now and to stop rain from coming in through the heater intake on the scuttle panel, i taped a tarp over the wind screen and trapped it between the doors and bonnet.

its absolutely sodden in the passenger front foot well.

and there was only six inches of windscreen uncovered

is there a main cause or is it going to be a number of places

the seals are pretty deteriorated but ive only known water to be in it once before. same place mind

and how easy is it to get windscreen men too replace the seal, and bond it in for you?
