There's a thought for the themed drive out on the Saturday, persuade a lady driver or passenger to slip on their white wedding outfit and we can deck all the cars with white ribbons.

I have posted some pages on the MMOC website with links to campsites, hotels, holiday lets, a Google search and Tourist Information.

Also for lovers of steam trains, the North Yorksire Moors Railway are offering discounted rates on production of membership card.

Well done Chris!

On an excellent choice of venue in god chosen county Yorkshire, and a mere 100 miles away from me,is this policy to swap on a yearly basis between north and south or is this just the way things have fell?

Now because of the closeness to the venue to myself i will offer this "on a first come first first served basis for those who wish to take up the offer FREE food and lodging for the week end i will stand to the lot (and were not talking a cheese sandwich and a bag of crisps between four either,so this will save you the cost of a guest house or hotel for the weekend (T.C owners this will make your weekend only extremely expensive form colossally expensive) for those who are not either campers or caravan owners, the brave souls who fancy perhaps a 70/80s night out in the Steel City won't be disappointed (remember to pack your flares though)

And Paul i would put £120/140 away to cover you fuel bill (as long as you don't go over 60mph) [my 300c gets nearly 35mpg on a run and 0-60 in well under 8 seconds but everyone else seems to get that type mileage and T.C performance anyhow and perhaps £140 in go-go juice is not a lot]

So that's it to avoid disappointment book early,pm me asap.

Hi Russ,

The MMOC plan has been to move the event round the country, so that members from all regions get the chance to go. We have done the Midlands 2005, East Anglia 2006, North West 2007, South West 2008, South East 2009 and this year the North East. The thing is that more members are travelling further because they enjoy the shows and the diverse locations, Balmy is planning to come from Cornwall this year (and his Bro).

The 2011 location will be discussed at the next AGM.

One of the things we find is that cars that members never drive out of their own region will turn up and as a result the owners start to compare theirs to some of the star cars that turn up and it gives them something to aim for with their own car. Overall it helps to raise the standard of the cars.

Hi Russ,
Are the showers one or more to a shower?
Just checking.

I was going to travel at 56miles per hour and take 2 cars so the wife and son and all the stuff goes in the 2nd car so I don't wear out the Marina :o
Either that or tow the Marina there so it uses no fuel

I really hope I can come this year as it will be my first national and first long journey the car has been on since its been on the road after the restoration. The trouble is the damn village festival falls on this weekend I reckon, and I work at the village pub which has a big bash there where they drink the place dry and they usually need all the staff, but hopefully this year I can persuade them to let me have it off seeing as I have done the last 2 years. Failing that I will definately attend the Presidents Weekend on the Isle of Whight.

were only the brave dare bend over in the shower to pick up the soap.
Then my advice is not to bend down and pick up the soap, but to kick it all the way home, then you can pick it up
Must be like Brighton, drop your wallet there and the only option is to kick it home

Sounds like we could get a record turn out and some great cars, starting to look forward to it now.

I can't believe that nobody is picking up on Russ' offer of free board and lodgings..!
Is there something I'm missing - or does the man represent too much of a good thing.?

Russ old chap - I would be in like a very quick thing if I were anywhere near your side of the planet.
I can only think that this is a most generous offer and worthy of mention.

Thankyou from the far end of the planet.

Look forward to splendiferous reports of the general mayhem.

Chiz.

Chris

If you can get there or there abouts, you can ride shotgun with me for the Road Run and transport to the show for the Sunday.

Likewise any other overseas visitors, we'll make sure you get a ride, Jan-Ivar?
