Don't know about door handles, but know about nipples.

There is one on each of the front suspension bottom swivels (the corect title is trunnion), this lubricates both the verticle threaded section and the horizontal pin, there is a second one about 3/4 the way up the suspension upright on the inside, this lubricates the top swivel. Both of these should be greased every 3,000 miles or twelve months. If the steering feels heavy or it sticks anywhere, grease the suspension first before trying anything else. If the car is new to you assume that nothing has been greased and then every 3,000 miles.

There is another nipple on the hanbrake cable, which lubricates the cable inside the outer, some pattern handbrake cables have the nipple missing and guess what they seize up after a time.

So counting both sides and the handbrake cable, five in total. On the front suspension, keep squirting grease until clean grease comes out all the seals, the black old stuff willcome out first.

Buy a Haynes manual it gives a good synopsis of all the basic servicing needs and recommended fluids and greases, plus some bigger jobs; they go for about £3-£5 plus postage on Ebay.

There will also be a grease nipple on the fron prop joint and possibly the other rear 2 joints!
Mine now has a small allen key grub screw on one prop joint so you can wind this out and fit the grease nipple, pump some grease in and then remove it and re-fit the grub screw.
I think the nipples are missing on the 2 rear joints because of the nipple clashing with the UJ.

Paul,

You are right about the front UJ (i forgot that one - must do it when I lube the Coupe this weekend in preparation for the new year), the other two UJs never had nipples, most of the load is one the front one, so that's why it has a nipple. The back ones are the same as Ford and other makes from the same time.

Unless you recon the prop like I have and the UJ now have a blank grub screw :D
the centre on on mine is the only one not to have a grease point as that one had no wear 8)

UJ's come with either nipples or without (cheaper), sometimes the standard short nipples are almost impossible to get a grease gun on. These can be replaced by longer nipples to make life easier and don't appear to upset the balance of the prop.

Google 'nippleshop', but beware of the thread as some are imperial and others metric (depends on what was fitted).

I don't leave the long nipple in but replace the grub screw so that should not upset the balance
