I remember my parents getting a 1300 flamenco saloon when i was about 10 years old, after having morris minors for years it felt huge in comparison and we,ve had marina's ever since !!! Cheap , reliable , easy to work on and a great looking car !! a shame about all the bad press really !!

Why a Marina...if i had a penny for every time i`d been asked that question

, i was working in a shop in Shanklin, and on Friday mornings i always used to wash the windows outside, and every friday i would hear the same throaty grunt coming from what looked on the surface to be, an ordinary saloon car as it parked outside the shop while the owner went into the medical centre across the road, the sound of it alone made me curious as to what it was, so one day i asked the old boy about it, and he told me it was the best car he had ever had, and certainly the fastest, he very kindly let me have a go one day and i was sold!!!, i had to get me one of those 8) , after driving Mini`s it was luxury beyond belief, with all that brushed nylon trim, tinted glass, vinyl roof, twin carbs - yes it was a lovely Reynard MK1 TC Saloon KDL 104P..sadly no longer with us i`m afraid but the seeds were sown, i went out that week and found my first TC Saloon in a Garage in Fishbourne for £450... NRO 40L, Since then i have never been without one in some form or other, they are very addictive

For me its a tribute to my memories while growing up as a child in the U.S,back in the early-mid 70's they looked so different than other cars and allways had a soft feeling for British made cars
I know they are not reliable cars, but we still do love even some women that are not faithfull and reliable.....right?
