Hi, I'm the one who took photos of this Coupe yesterday, it's located in the grounds of an abandoned hoarder type property in Buckinghamshire. If anyone wants more details PM me.

Hi Dan, this is clearly a very interesting car, loads of rare features, each pic you take shows us something new...this time i see she has headrests on mk1 vinyl seats!...unheard of but obviously original, this car could never be recovered from what i can see but it could easily be stripped of a load of very unique and rare parts in a day or so, all the stainless trim looks good, the seats look useable as does most of the rare interior trim, the glass is ok, the backflash and badges all saveable, you could make a really good lookalike of this car with a good donor car and the trim from this one, got to be worth an enquiry from someone

Will this car have the Ford Back Axle still fitted??
wonder if it has the american grille on the front?

I think it was only the Australian cars with ford rear axles Barry. This would have a uk one.

I think it was only the Australian cars with ford rear axles.

Borg Warner axle, rather than Ford (also used in Aus by Toyota, Datsun, and iirc Hillman at that time).

Aust Mk1 Marina's also had head restraints, but a different vinyl pattern.

if its broken up i will be very interested in the rear sundym window...

I doubt anyone will get hands on it if it is in a persons back garden and the owner is now no longer there as I expect the estate will be held up and then it will be cleared out.
Any person clearing it out is unlikely to think to contact the MMOC to see if they want a car which is SOOOOOOOOO rust

But you never know.
Maybe someone near there can equire or leave a note on the door or a note everywhere

It's got to be worth someone in the local area asking around and chasing it up.

Sorry i thought it would have had a ford back axle
i remember Tony Mason on Top Gear when he turned up at a marina national meeting at longleat in the 90's
They was a american marina on that(i think) that he spoke about a commented that it had a ford back axle,along with its bigger bumpers and orange lights.
This was when top gear was a bit more sensible and not an entertainment show

I did not realise that Marina glove box locks were like penicillin
I see moss don't like them

I also missed it has got both halfs of the steering column trim so it won't need it after all

Write the note on the bodywork in something that won't wash off, like flouro highlighter or lipstick .

It could well be a car that never made it abroad. As far as i'm aware 1975 was the last year they were exported to the US.

The story from the BL Factory at Cowley, was that the line workers would order a US spec model for themselves with the staff discount (cos it was higher specced) and then spec it up even higher as it went down the line. It's quite possible that a worker bought the Austin GT and just used it and then parked it up.

Anyone noticed the window winder handles are different as well?
What are they from?
