Of course the XJ6 is a better car, I just don't think it's great for a classic car magazine to be making unfair comparisons and then broadcasting them to the world, as I suspect some people wouldn't be able to see it was just a joke and then start to think 'Itals are crap' etc. They should be trying to change peoples' perceptions of the car not reinforcing negative stereotypes.
Since I own a 74 Jag and a 75 Tc (among others) there's just no comparison, but lets not forget the Marina was less than 1/4 of the price of the Jag and if I had to drive one every day in traffic and town, the Marina is the car I'd jump in.

However if had an unlimited petrol supply and a parking space at work, that may change ;)

P.s both of them fail to proceede at about the same number of times per year, ah BL quality control :evil:

My late XJ40 only ever played up once... of course, that once was the day it was supposed to be used to escort a couple from their wedding reception and off to their honeymoon :rolls:

Ended up using a friend's 1850HL Dolomite to take them away, before swapping for my girlfriend's Vauxhall Corsa for the run to Gatwick. Not quite the same :lol:

Just used mine for a Wedding, had a minor wobbly and threw all its cooling water out, but once refilled managed the rest of the days duties admirably, or should that be unbeliveably? ;)
Looked outstanding tho, all its chrome polished and white is a really good colour on a series 2.

Now that's a proper wedding car it has to be said 8-)

The actual wedding cars for this one were a 1930's Austin for her (and to take them away)- and a Starsky & Hutch liveried Gran Torino for him :mr green:

I'm terrified of using 1930's cars for weddings, they always sound like they are going to brake down to me, but they look sooooo good its almost worth it, almost.

I used a 1972 Holden Sandman Panel Van for my best mates wedding (he's a surfer!), and managed to run it out of petrol on the way to the church, made for a great photo tho 8-)

That's not a real Sandman :problem: , it's got side windows :shh: (and no graphics :o ). Not ideal for a surfie's shaggin' wagon, all the world can see what you're up to! :wtf:

But if it had a 350 that smoked the bags, I no complain. :-D

The only "Finns" we see at Whitley Bay tend to be on a ferry en route to North Shields :-D :-D

Too true about the windows and graphics, but she was a real 350 4 speed sandman, windows added and graphics removed by the previous owner, who also stuck on the awful paintjob :-?

It did indeed smoke the bags and go like hell, used a hell of a lot of petrol tho ;)
