Oh well, this car is going to need more than sills! I went up to take a look at it and it's pretty bad. Front cross member has completely disappeared, sills (inner and outer) completely shot, torsion bars have nothing left to bolt to so the rest of the chassis is probably just as bad.
Definitely a parts car though there are a lot of very good bits left. Doors and boot are good, dashboard, front wings (needing light repair)
good front grill, interior bits and bobs are all there and the cloth seats are in good shape are from I think a TC (arm rest in back and headrest on fronts)
So, from the sills down she's dead and the engine has been apart since 1983! From the sills up she's very solid.. floor pans too are surprisingly good, bone dry inside with good carpet Boot floor and rear quarters are also solid. It's the structural parts that are worse for wear.
No discs on this one It's fitted with drums no servo.

Could play the investor role and break her for parts? I don't say that lightly but if a car has no cross member and BOTH sides of the sill are shot ... it's looking rather grim.

A potentially more merciful death than just left to rot away.

I find it bizarre how this car has rotted away, though. I must admit.

Quite a common way for them to rot if standing on grass/in a field for a good few years!

Yeah true true. Not being hypocritical [now] but I do think it's sad a car should be on a field.

Couldn't be helped I guess. The engine destroyed itself in 1983 and was just left. The car would have been just over ten years old then and not worth the expense of a new engine. At that time the scrap yard would have charged to take it away as scrap was so low. I remember when I was around five or six we used to play in an old Hillman Hunter just dumped on the side of the road! Saw that a lot then.

Not sure what he thinks car is worth but almost certain bidding was up to around the £300 mark the other day

Third time this has been listed! When I was talking to the guy he said the first time it 'sold' he heard nothing back from the bidder. Must have happened again. He was really hoping I would take it when I went to see him. If I can find somewhere to keep it I'll make him an offer, he even offered to tow it back to my place. He'll probably end up scrapping it if he get's messed about again.

This appears a little odd,cloth seats with headrests,lots of switches on the choke cable fascia and a TC centre console?
