 bugger this i am going ford...you dont give a reason.the whole idea of owning a marina is for what it is,the way it is, the way it handles.thats part of the fun in owning a marina. i want to drive my marina the way they drove in the 70s. you want one to drive like a 90s car.its not meant to be that way.its not a true marina in the originality sense. nobody can come up to your "tc" and say !"my dad had one of those " because he didnt.

Sorry to upset you there Larry but I like to challenge what has been done and make something more personal. It is true no one else can say they had one of these but then I have something totally original.

The car will handle way better and actually gain very good MPG, not that I built it for that. I built a ford engine as it actually is cheaper and easier than fitting a V8 or K Series because all the parts are off the shelf and cheap.

To keep the Marina alive Larry there has to be diversity and tolerance for change.

If people don't like it then well that is up to them... I built it for me =) And I'd do another in an instant! ! Bloody beautiful engines these Zetecs!!

Oh and I never drove them in the 70's so my interpretation is probably very different from other peoples..

BTW you can get super chargers too for these!! Do you think it will go with huge ass rear scooby spoiler....

But this hasnt been broken - if anything it's been made so it is likely to spend a lot more time on the road! All the benifits of a modern car with the classy styling of the 70s.

no, although you have cut the body to make room for modications and changed all the running gear so technicaly it ain't a tc anymore. But i don't think tc's are anything special anyway, so you've probably done the right thing.

my tc was utterley shagged, plus nobody wanted it.

maybe ive missed something here but its hardly as if its a OTT change, the only real bits modified being the engine, prop and box at present from what i can see.

I think in most cases such things are sensible in, we are lucky in that our cars use the good old B series (and A) and so parts are plentiful, in many other cases upgrading engines etc is a sensible mod as the parts for older cars will dry up.

Additionaly upgrades like brakes etc are surely a good thing as they potentially improve the safety.

Its completely different to breaking a car up, theres no reason why this cant be put back to standard fairly easily plus the most obvious fact that once you break a car nothing remains of it..........

Cut the body under the carpet so it would all go back and aesthetically look the same

the car still remains if you have the log book

Hum well running gear is custom yes, and I could have built it not to have the tunnel chopped but as I wanted to do a proper job I cut it and welded it up. Visually it is a TC, it has the chassis plate and V5 to boot!
