Thanks for the advice all, ended up with a pair of seats from an early mini, simply welded a piece of 20mm pipe between the mini mounting "tabs" and used morris minor saddle-clamps to bolt to the original captive threads in the floor. Looks great in black vinyl and it would take an expert to know theyre not original! Should easily be able to stash the spare tyre and more behind them now
