There was a club member in Orkney, who drove down to our Nats in Yorkshire a few years back. He had sealed the whole car in black under seal, to minimise salt spray corrosion. The car was green, but the police told him that he had to change the V5C to show that the car was now black.
Also due to the cold weather, he had fitted separate bus feet warmer radiators and fans, one for each passenger, all run off the hot water circuit, he complained that the car never actually warmed up properly.

When I took ownership of TDT one of the previous owners had painted the roof in underseal! On cold days it was fine and actually looked good, even had the textured look of vinyl but when the sun was out it went all sticky. Lost count how many people leaned against it

Many a shirt was ruined!

Sounds like I need to dig out the pictures of my lovely Hammerite black LDV... actually it wasn't even Hammerite, it was some knock off version. Didn't stop it rusting either bit did have the advantage that black duck tape was a good match for both colour and texture and was therefore the perfect medium for body repairs.

The front looks almost Porsche like? Would be more suited to the coupe I reckon, just looks odd on the saloon.

It's basically TR7 wedge front meets Mk2 Cortina. Doesn't really work. It isn't really a styling exercise, it's a safety-feature technical exercise. On a typically BL limited budget.
