Bought a set of
NOS TC hubcaps off ebay Australia, and paid Skip for the NOS quarterlight window seal and interior light he's sending over from the States.

New wheels .

Being aware that some hubs were on their way from Ben and only having two 3.75 rims I made an executive decision and drove to Rimmer brothers where I consulted a knowledgable MMOC member called Barry who works there . The end result was two shiny new TR7 rims along with new wheel nuts . Dropped them off to have some tyres fitted on the way home and will collect them tomorrow .
They cost £45.00 each which is what my tyre man charges to refurbish old rims ! New 175.70x13 tyres at £35.00 fitted and its job done . Once the hubs are changed I can check the fitment and buy another two .
I may change my mind and have alloys at a later date but think the steels may be more in keeping . Will post up some pics once fitted .

Bought an Australian Morris Marina Owner's Handbook off TradeMe for $1.50 (plus $2.80 postage). Well used, but good enough to go in Ozzy's glovebox.

That looks brilliant much nicer to see proper sign writing rather than stickers

I like it David . And more in keeping with the age of the vehicle . He is coming to finish off tomorrow .

Right then... safe to say production has started on the MK1 radio fascias! It takes a long time to finish these things

but hopefully I'll have them up for sale in time before the shows start in the summer. It feels like I'm going a hundred miles per hour with all of this! It's a bit scary as I have no idea what people will think of them because this all originally started with me just wanting to replace my broken radio fascia
I'll eventually start making the switch panel too where the choke and accessory lights are and also the dash clock face plate as to have a matching set

Because their made from a resin their not as strong as the original plastic ones so don't go taking a Stanley to them if you feel like fitting a radio!
When I put them up for sale let me know what "spec" fascia you want, i.e - Radio cut out, cigarette lighter cut out, accessory light left/right cut out or just plain uncut and I'll do that for you.

Two parcels arrived in the post yesterday.
One from Skip Harris in the US, with a NOS quarterlight rubber and NOS interior light (just over a week from Arkansas to Auckland via US Post 1st Class), brilliant service

.
The second from across town, with a genuine New Zealand Mk1 Marina owner's handbook (the one from the glovebox that never stays with the car when re-sold

), all 35 pages, printed in Wellington. Interestingly, it shows the jacking arrangement as a screw type jack under the suspension arm or axle, rather than the UK ratchet (or scissor?) type, and shows the optional Australian TC alloy wheels with the comment "not standard in New Zealand".

Took advantage of the weather today and got the propshaft fitted to TDT.. all painted up and looking good. I'll get some pics up later. Also got out the sander and removed the old black paint from the roof, not sure if it was paint though.. more like under seal or something but it was a nightmare to get off! you know who you are
The car will be white all over when I get around to paint but that's a long way off yet.
oh, has anyone got an old radio fascia in brown and also the wood effect? They don't have to be good ones, a broken one will do. I just need to get a colour match and find a wood grain close to the original.
