All brake pads are essentially the same. There are some heavy duty available from EBC but no need for everyday driving.

I got the dash trim panels back today but the colour is very different to the original. Their more gray than blue/gray! We searched and searched and tried mixing different colours but nothing came close. We couldn't paint them anymore because the tiny square dimple pattern will get clogged with paint. Simply put, the colour just does not exist :wtf: It even threw the painter and he has every colour you can imagine... except the colour BL painted these trim pieces
Anyway, because the colour cant be matched to anything I won't be making the later MK1 trim. I'm going to concentrate on early trim and the wood effect versions. Sorry guys but nobody knows what colour it is!

The warning light for the dynamo started glowing on PTH on the way to work this morning! I thought here we go! Pulled in for petrol, started the car and the light went out :-? It has a new regulator box and dynamo though the regulator seems to be a cheap Chinese copy... though it works, I think. Last week I took PTH's battery back to the motor factors no less than a year after purchase (wouldn't hold charge) to find on test the cranking amps were non existent. They replaced it and put it down to a dodgy battery.. so did I :eh: but did my charging system kill it?

Courier delivered a "spare" oil filter, bought for $29.50 from a parts supplier in Pahiatua, a small town in the middle of nowhere (thanks to my Old School "wanted" ad). Half the price of the one I ordered from Repco last week (for $68), to go with 4 litres of Castrol GTX 20W50 I bought the week before. Another job to do, once my wrist has healed up. :silent:

I've finished detailing the dash trims and I may list them on ebay though I'm a bit apprehensive because the colour isn't exactly the same.. but it's very close. What do you think? Would you be happy with one?

I think considering you have made the whole trim I think you have made a great job of them - Well done
Lets face it they will be better than having a rough hole cut in the dash and makes it look all new again.
I tried finding stick on wood trim to match the old stuff but had no luck, close but no cigar :D
I did however spray my new brown trim black and fit it in my Jubilee as I had not got a nice black trim:-D

Morris I think that they are brilliant, I'm sure an advert in the club magazine and on the website would likely see them all go.

Ben's your man for the advert.

Looks good! Are you still able to do early ones with the short length red bar as well or do you need a good one to work from still? The short length bar lasted into 72, it didn't change when the line colour did by the way.

I can send it to you Gareth. I want to "loose" the non BL buttons if possible, but retain the radio :)

I've just made a new mold for the early trim Josh so they'll be along soon  TDT has an early fascia but in the later colour like you said. It's quite surprising how many variations of the same part there is

Yeh, I can do that. Because it's the wood effect version and not the criss cross pattern I can lay something flat in the cutouts so the mold produces a complete part  The wood effect will cover any 'scars' from the original.
