I have to make new molds for them because laying wood effect over the criss cross pattern version traps air in the tiny squares. On a hot day the air tries to escape causing bubbles under the vinyl wood effect but don't worry I'll be making them too

The more the better Not sure how many LHD versions will sell but worth doing.

Great work on the trims - I can't imagine the time you had on those. Regards the colour did you use colour books or match from sample? The reason I ask is that my local paint guy matches by eye. He has a great reputation and when I resprayed my Anglia I wanted as close to original as poss rather than from a code so I took an unfaded sample. I removed the chrome trim from the headlamp rim and he matched it for me - pretty spot on to be honest.
It will always be difficult to get a 100% match however if you want to send me a sample of the colour I can ask for you. I'll need at least a 3" square sample. Only problem is as he's mixing in front of you you buy what he makes up and it's a one off. the next batch would be sligtly differant for obvious reasons.

Thanks. The guy who paints them for me does the same. He still has enough paint to do another sixty or so panels. In all honesty the colour is almost exactly the same, I'm just very fussy I tried one in REP to see how it looked against the ashtray because it has to be a good match due to it being the same colour and I can't tell the difference. I can send you an original panel if you want to give it a try but to be honest I doubt you'll find a closer colour.

Found a colour match for the gold trim fitted to brown dashboard SDL's today and I found an exact woodgrain match to those fitted to 1.8's and TC's (brown and black versions)

The wood grain extends round the dials as well. Will you be able to supply spare wood grain for me to cover that as well?

No probs, my idea with the woodgrain fascia was to sell the panel with a piece of woodgrain material cut for the ashtray anyway so as to perfectly match up. I can't see there being a problem with supplying some for the switch panel and clocks too.

The grain isn't available on the roll. My friend runs a printing business and can copy the grain exactly. He's going to have them cut into pre-cut templates so they fit without having to faff about with a scalpel knife
When he's finished I can sell them as a repair kit I guess
