Paul,do you know if these grommets are still available. They might be worth a try to keep things better sealed and avoid this stickng problem.
Cheers

I got this off Ebay USA and he only had 2 of them. I have never seen another one for sale
I found the part number in a parts book and did a search on line so you could find one about.
Cheers,
Paul.

Thanks for sharing tips on the clutch. The only 2 things not tried are the drop on jack method and gearbox out. Given its not been driven since 2001 I suppose it's expected to be more stubborn than most! As I've gained a second wind on the car and the welding is finished. I'm going to finish everything else off. Service/new rear dampers and sort some of the paint out. Basically so that clutch and mot are the last things. I'll let you know how I get on.

That was four years ago.
Different size entirely.
There was no demand, and the potential supplier I had, dried up shortly afterwards.
They had quite a stock of Marina parts and really wanted someone to buy the lot. Way beyond my means at the time, and I had plans to move to Spain so nowhere to store them all anyway.

I have bought of this place as well, think it was light lenses.
Well found, I am sure there will be more out there somewhere.
Wonder what a heavy duty gearbox has that is different from standard?

I know they increased the main shaft size as I have both here and also reverse gear, laygear etc altered with chunky teeth.

The cage bearing in the back of the input shaft that takes the main shaft, is more robust. It then got used as the standard in later Mk1s.

My TC had the smaller bearing but I had it rebuilt and 'uprated' with the bigger bearing. Guess it was after '74 they came through as standard?
