Checkout the club website for next main show dates - Peterborough BMC / BL Rally - Sunday 5th August - link on club website to the organisers - tickets cheaper if booked in advance.

The club will have a large stand with parking for all members.

Josh we'll need to see Duckie there.

Just sorting through the eight gazillion picture taken by Josh with my camera to make some sense of them.

Might not even be seeing Ducky on my driveway now.

Apparently it costs £500 more to insure a 1.3 DL compared to a 1.3 SDL.

I am truly lost for words. I start breaking one car I love, find another I fall in love with and now it seems that will have to be moved on as well. Just about had enough of cars right now

Josh ring the insurer and ask to speak to an underwriter that's bollo!

Going to ring them first thing in the morning. I ran a K reg SDL through and it was £500 less and I got double the number of quotes, tried another K reg DL and it shot back up by £500 and lost half the quotes.

Actually now I come to think of it there was one place who seem a bit dodgy but they quoted less than an SDL.... so hopefully as you say it's just their random number generator spilling out bulls**t. They are coming out with more than I'm paying for my 1.8 SDL at the moment.

Oh well, if I have to sell all my limbs I'm still getting Ducky.

Edit: Just looked again and 'eCar' would do it next year for £625 (cheaper than an SDL), next cheapest is over a grand :eh:

Oh well I will just get the bloody car then worry about the insurance. I won't get another chance to own a car like that.

8-) Great to see you all had a good time guys, sorry i couldn`t be there, looks like the weather was pretty good considering what the rest of us got :rolls:
Josh, just tell them it`s a SDL ...that quote is ridiculous, i can send you some chrome trim to make it into a SDL if that will make them happy  ;)

If you had two Super wing badges, that's the only thing most people would recognise as a SDL. The different interior trim etc would pass them by. Also the V5 is very unlikely to have the model designation, just 1.3 Marina Saloon, PLG.

I don't usually check things like mileage, but this time I brim filled before setting off for the road run in Friday night and again when I got home on Sunday.

Total miles = 298
Total litres = 46.56
Total gallons = 10.24
Average miles to the gallon 29.1 mpg

Not bad as I toed it around a fair bit and its a B series with twin carbs. Must be the combined beauty of an efficient engine and a 5 speed box.

I wonder how Dave Richardson's V8 got on?

We would just like to say thanks to all those that were organising the weekend as we can appreciate all the hard work you all put in.

On a personal note It was nice to meet up with old friends again and enjoy the usual crack.

Nodoubt like others we had the usual Marina trait ...... letting in water, another job, other than that the car didn't miss a beat and we covered 700 miles in our 4 days holiday, 4 hours to get home.

Brian and Lesley

PS thanks Phil, I bought some 'tiger seal' today as i can't find the last lot.
