Cheers Gee, I might as well keep the one I have and get it repaired if the neck needs welding on. It's the only area on mine where it was leaking.

If you have an old school radiator repair company in the area, give them a call and ask if they repair steel fuel tanks. It is possible to solder a seam or a repair patch and they can last for donkeys years.

Yes, lots or rad repair shops here. I have two tanks in the shed that need work also. I won't throw them out because of how hard they are to get hold of.

'Knead-it' is excellent for fuel tank repairs.

hehe.. yeh, I checked out the first link. I wasn't looking to replace the whole car, though that is a Very nice mk2 saloon!
The tank on eBay is from the same guy I bought the early tank for TDT.
Is this one in the link for a van or saloon? filler neck is different

Same stuff I used but different name. I did a similar repair on my girlfriends car and it lasted four years before it started leaking again but the leak was further up the pipe this time so yes, really good stuff though takes your fingerprints off when kneading it!

Bought an old "Wheels" magazine off TradeMe, from 1972, with the first drive story on the Australian Marina. Cover has a saloon and TC Coupe. Can't wait for the postie. :-D

The Marina towed the trailer to the tip with more hedge clippings and then I wiped the marina down and applied wax polish to all the RED bits!

Hoovered out the interior ready for the trip to Leicester and measured up the boot, I can only get 4 boxes in their, so Sunday I need to remove the front seat to get more in or bring it all in the trailer!? Would I be allowed to take up extra room on Sunday with the trailer??

It's a fairly large area. I'm sure it will be ok. :-)

Scanned the 5 page article, and posted in it's own thread. Happy reading.

Fitted an amp meter to TDT today but now it's not working? Was working when it was in my girlfriends car and all I did was take it out and put it in TDT. Didn't cross wires, didn't drop it and simply wired it up.. nothing. Why do things brake or stop working just by looking at them? because that's pretty much all I did. Oh and as if that wasn't enough of a slap in the face I broke the speedo cable clip at the back of the clocks right on the crimp  there is no fixing it, I've tried everything! So, that was my evening.. how was yours
