I see from Photo. Pump Spacer is no2 on diagram which relates to part no 12g4520, if you google that it comes up as mini fuel pump spacer so should be easy to get

Looking through Google most of the spacers for A series engines are the same it's just the opening that differs. MG seem to have wide openings, Mini's seem to have a narrower opening. The width of the spacers are all the same it seems.

Inferior products are made of inferior materials! If like mine the pump threw the pin it'll do it again. If it wasn't for this spacer I have my pump would be in the bin.

Finished fitting the new shocks and poly bushes and made a start on the interior work ready for Peterborough!

Ordered and had delivered an SU electric fuel pump to fit on the coupe. Fed up with petrol delivery problems in hot motorway traffic on the way to and from the Nationals. It's a sad day as this will be the first deviation from the original design,Ho-hum can't expect pops to keep jumping out on the hard shoulder and pour water over the original mechanical pump every year.

If it makes you feel any better, Canadian supplied Marinas had electric fuel pumps as standard.

And some had heat shields for the mech pump :-)

Changed the pipes in the washer bottle earlier as they were getting very clogged up but I forgot how brittle old plastic can get! Snapped the damn spout off the motor cap when I tried to pull the old pipe off
Didn't take me long to figure out how to fix it though
I found an old washer tubing T piece and cut the inlet off. I had to drill the motor cap so the piece would slide in. A bit of glue and now it's probably stronger than the original.
I cut some 2mm rubber sheet to replace the motor seal and the dried up piece in the lid, added a new sticker and now looks too new to be in there Must get round to engine bay detailing

Out with the seats, and the old carpet, the sound deadening was wet on the drivers floor, mainly as the rubber grommet was half in and half out as its damaged. Anyone got a spare?

New carpets a lovely colour but rather light so I need to be careful putting it back in!

New weather strips on both doors. Was worrying with recent weather that water was getting down into the door but all looks clean and rust free. And done just in the nick of time too, downpours shortly after finishing!

Helpful to have an extra pair of hands as it is fiddly! Extra Pair of paws not much use though...

My friend who helped also noticed that the wrong air filter was in, and the fuel filter needs changed so that's the next few jobs to do.

Mine is the B Series though! Burlen was my first port of call when I wanted a mechanical fuel pump or a diaphragm. Unfortunately they don't appear to supply anything in that line for the 1.8 Marina any more.

Changed one of the exhaust straps today. It's been held up by wire since it gave up during the nats weekend!

Started looking at air cooling carb jets and fuel pump with a high flow fan. May have to mod the front inner panel but I will see how it works out.
Should stop petrol evaporation. I have no fuel delivery issues but static in hot weather a killer and due to modern fuels getting to hot at the engine end.
Injection cars don't suffer as they recirculate fuel back to the tank to keep it cool.
