Took Reynard out for a 130 mile round trip today to the Scottish borders to visit my mate and as usual Reynard was well behaved. Was great chucking him round the tight country lanes however he will need a serious clean now lol

I cleaned the carb and changed the air filter on the Special and now it purrs

Well - I did something for it - rather than to it...
One of my IT clients handles tyres, and offered me staff discount.
I keep hearing how hard it is becoming to source 13" tyres of this size - so 1 set of directional Hankooks arrived today...
Generally last me about 5 years...

nice one Kilroy! Lots of folk told me that 13's were hard to get but one click on the internet and Reynard had new boots but it may be different at your end of the world lol

If all else fails, go to
Plan B 
Fewer brands in 13s, but many of the majors list 175/70R13s, and 205/60R13 street tyres still listed by Toyo and Kumho.
Could be worse. Our Honda Jazz has a tyre size that was exclusive to the Jazz Sport in NZ
, and only one tyre dealer had them in the country.
At least they were the same tyre as OE, so didn't make it handle or ride any worse.

$244...??!!
I paid $95+gst (15%) each for these.
The Toyos pictured look very nice - but I am more into 'down and dirty' so it doesn't matter what they look like.
I wonder who pays that sort of price.?
Including freight, $450 all up for the set. Considering the life I get from them - and I would get more without my negative camber - it has to be the best deal ever.
I think I would pay as much for a set of 175x70 13 on standard rims - and then I would be skating all over the show...
Widening the wheels pays itself off in a couple of years.!
Cool eh.?

The Toyo R888s are DOT race tyres
, but legal to drive on the street.
Used by many weekend warriors
, and the control tyre for the Mazda Pro7 RX7 and BMW E30 race series'.

Just back with a pair of Princess 4pots to refurb & hopefully put on mine.
My rear springs polybush set arrived yesterday.
On ebay at the mo there's a firm called flo-flex who are auctioning
various capri and escort setc at good prices.
Oh. . . . and drooled over a tax-exempt early low mileage and very solid early TC in burnt orange. Owner wont let me pass on details as yet tho because an offer has been made on it. he also has a number (6) of trashed Marinas including another TC (too far gone) with a tree growing through it. Hoping at some stage to get the rear springs and torsion bars from a reasonable estate there but again its well buried.
Has been dry stored (an used as storage) since 1976.
