Thanks Kilroy. Think we're sorted now. The set I sent from up here have arrived at long last...

Something a bit different today, when not playing with my Marina or MG. My other toy is a 1954 Ferguson TEF20! Not a show special but in working clothes, its been here from new. Learned to dive on it as soon as I could reach the pedals, about 7 years old I seem to recall. Had to do some Maintenance on it as I had a rear tyre blow out. A perished Good Year, been on it since the early 70's. I have fitted two new rear hub oil seals (leather) re greased rear wheel bearings and serviced the rear brakes. everything cam unbolted fairly easily, until I decided to change the rear wings / mudguards. War broke out all seized solid !! Even some parts were hot riveted, I had to break out the gas bottles to get everything apart. All wire brushed now, will bring some rust killer home in the week. Red Oxide prime the brackets fit the mudguards and paint next weekend. Providing all goes to plan.

My Grandad was going through some old paper work the other day from when he owned a car garage back in the '80s. Aside from obviously fixing people's cars, which is where I got my knowledge from about fixing cars and all the tools , he had a fleet of Marinas that he hired out. We think this was one of the cars and thought I'd post it here as I thought it was quite interesting and concidental as I now own Marinas some 40 years later

Yeah you can, you need a Nuffield

Possible bias given the climbing frame I had as a kid (1959 Nuffield Universal 4). My neighbour had a Fergie with a Perkins P3 in a few years later (followed by an early E1a Major) so I've had a bit of fun with them too.

Ditto the pictures request. Great to have the history with it too.

Had a great weekend up at Kielder forest with the coupe supporting their 100 year celebration. Had a very nice road run on Saturday with good views, good weather and a nice pub lunch stop. Then a massive turn out of classic cars, landrovers and tractors today. I've got to say well done to Alex on here for all the planning of it and his team of helpers.

Took my "wellbeing day" off work and spent it in the garage.

Refitted the chrome exterior door handle, instead of the black van handle it had.

Put a replacement rubber on the opening front quarterlight window, and replaced the inner weatherstrip and channel rubber.

One of the spring clips came off the inner weatherstrip, sods law it was in the hardest to reach place. Couldn't get it back on, but didn't want to risk damaging the weatherstrip, so gave up and left it with 4 clips.

Had trouble getting the chrome door capping on, the screws had gone missing, and I couldn't find a screw with a small enough head for the front hole that would still allow the quarterlight frame to fit in. In the end, left the screw out - the quarterlight seal and the rear screw seem to be holding it in place for now.

Found the rivets that hold the bottom mount on the window track had snapped, so had to replace those.

Ran out of time to fit the outer seal, so that'll have to wait until next week.

Satisfied with the seals I got from Basis in NZ, and the quarterlight seal I got from Skip Harris in the US.

Nothing too drastic today, just getting used to starting a car that has a choke, throughout learning to drive I've only ever started piddly little modern Japanese and French hatchbacks. Also, on the lookout for two window winders and the plastic cap to go over the hole in the passenger seat where the headrests went in the HLS model. Only need one of the caps (driver's side one is present) in paprika.

Does anyone know what car this window trim is for? It's not Marina, though it is similar width and hight but is much skinnier. It was with some spares I picked up the other day but I don't know what it is for. It's in good nick so decided to keep it.

I put a post up on a Facebook group I'm on for you and got some ideas

Cheers Alex. The Volvo trim looks as wide as the Marina trim, not sure it's that. I thought maybe Allegro but the Allegro trim is identical to the Marina except for the profile, so that can be ruled out. I'm thinking Triumph, maybe Spitfire.

I’m not sure on the size, but the Triumph 2000 trim looks very similar.
