Nice pics Tony, of what was a thoroughly enjoyable day. It was really nice to make your aquaintance, see some familiar faces and cars and new ones too.

Wow great place for a car show Ben. Never seen that place before, looks very interesting. Good comparison between the Oldsmobile and the Zephyr.

I had an allegro hated the boot space compared to the marina but still a good car!

I'm not surprised, it is a pretty horrible place, well overpriced in my view. I only go under protest when the Missus wants some plants!

Today I removed the incredibly heavy rear axle and springs from my Leyland coupe shell.
It has the Leyland 6 setup with twin leading links to stabilise impending gobs of torque, and the link arms are made of light alloy, but the rest is massively heavy compared to the UK rear axles that I am used to.
So its all going and I will use UK suspension instead.
But here is the cool bit.
Even though this coupe is from 1976, it appears that the mounting points for the link arms are in the same place as the mountings points for the late type rear ASB's are.
They are visible in this photo..
These have an outer bracket with a captive thread welded through the outer wall of the chassis section, but the bracket wraps right around the inner side as well, so I figure I can drill through the captive thread and through the inner plates and then anchor the late type ASB from the inside out to the captive thread.
This is a great discovery and it has made my day.
Until proven wrong maybe, but I think not...

Also today I am fitting my unwanted Leyland 6 suspension into a rotted out UK Mk3 sedan body so that I can fit the Cheviot Turbo mag wheels to it and sell it as a rolling body.
Mainly I want the whole lot to disappear without me having to cut it up for scrap.
However, the mags feature Yokohama A049 road/track rubber and a Ford stud pattern, so I figure they do have some value.
After I strip the interior to furnish my coupe it will hit the market.
So that's nice...
