Not taxed, MOT'ed or insured!
And Fruitys Tundra isn't taxed either and the jubilee isn't quite ready yet.

When you say the core plug is on the hard side, I thought the only hard one was the rear plug as that is an engine out job?
The other 3 are they not on the side!?

I had exactly the same with a core plug that was fitted by someone else. Except mine killed a piston
I've learned since that when fitting them u should hit them hard and once. As repeatedly tapping away at them can loosen them.

All mine were done by Ivor Searles. When they did the engine block clean up the core plug replacement was part of it so hopefully I shouldn't have any problems but even the best get it wrong occassionally. Having said that, I did find, when I took it out of the garage on New Years Day, that she had leaked water from somewhere. At the moment that is still under investigation as I cannot find any explanation for it and it didn't do it during the day.

I think so. Tried a different advance curve and set the timing up and I was experimenting with mixture when it happened. Didn't rev above 3750/4000 ish before and at 5000rpm in top it was pulling well till it popped!
Confirmed this morning it must be the back core plug. It had slid down behind the manifold which is where I'd found it.
The gearbox has to come out anyway as its crap since the rebuild so guess its engine and box.....again. Maybe Gary and I should start a club????

Just been up to the garage and checked that it was still where I'd left it. While I was there I got it started up and running for 10 mins. Then I pulled it out of the garage, as you do, just to make sure that the clutch was working properly. I resisted taking it down the road when I realised that the tax had run out.......OOOOOOPPPPPPPS.

Checked tappets and plugs took it for a run.
Started looking at my second set of carbs to refurbish.

Aaargh!!
Had the ute booked in to get the rust repaired today.
Only whe Mrs KiwiUte drove home last night and went to back inoto the drive-way it suddenly ran like a $3 lawn-mower - pfft-pop-rummble-spit-cough etc.
Would start under protest - but wouldn't run for more than 10 seconds.
So got a mate who is an auto sparky to tow it to his workshop last night.
Today it turned out to just be buggered ignition points
Easy fix - and off to get the rust fixed!

Ben
I see that the sump is very low, is that why the front wheels are off the ground, or is it that you caught it in mid driverless wheelie?
