My head has oil on it!!!

the box is out as it's a whiner! Hopefully just a set of bearings!

head is off as it puffs a bit of smoke and the as it spent so long seized up, I thought a good clean up de-coke stem seals and skim maybe be in order! And also replace the clutch as the release bearing is noisey too!

Busy day! Can we borrow you lot for a weekend

Have got back into the swing of doing something similar up here now, after a busy summer. Have mostly been concentrating on the Dolomite recently, have the Saloon to play with now though

Usually manage a couple of Sundays a month.

Gearboxes are straight forward enough, you just need to be methodical and keep everything clean. Take your time, you don't need special tools, just improvise. The only tool I would recommend buying/borrowing is a pair of outside circlip pliers with flat ends. A soft/copper mallet comes in handy too.
As well as bearings, go to Rimmers and buy some needle rollers for the lay shaft ( there's usually one or two missing at each end, also the synchro hub springs. That's three for each hub and the springs are slightly different lengths.

Thanks for the info Chris, I forgot Rimmers could of be help with some gearbox parts! Tools shouldn't be an issue!

Rimmers can be helpful with most things... they just prefer you to have deep pockets!

If its a bit whiney I expect the bearing races have rust pitted due to being off the road and static for so long, just a guess

Kevin, is that grease from your hair or the gearbox? I wondered what your secret was

Damn it Paul you have worked out my secret!!

I expect your right on the bearings, still it will be a nice little project over the winter! I've got quite a few jobs to do on her before the big weekend next July!!
