Hi Chris, yea this would be good! Ive several colour and interior charts but none of them match what we have here! or what we think it should be! be good to get a best educated option as I wish to put it back how it should be~!
Any help is great!! Thanks Andy

So Andy
If you have a colour chart with say Rhiengold what's the earliest date?

I have several colour charts, and as I have said previously, 1973-74 for Rheingold, it was only used for 1 year, that`s why it is so rare, Brazil was used for 2 years, (`73-75.), could be a 73 car easily

I was suggesting the reason the guy used the Amazon green colour was because he thought it looked similar to the original colour Andy, making it less likely to have been Brazil.
The early valances cropped up on many of the `73 registered Jubilee`s so not that unlikely on a `73 coupe either in my opinion

As with all BL stuff, what the Brochure says and what they actually made for you didn't necessarily tally up, eh, Frank?

I thought that Andy's TC was a 1972 car?

Would be nice to see some comparison photos if anyone has any good ones folks- must admit some of the more obscure colours aren't particularly familiar to me, I'm sure I'm not the only one (well, hope I'm not anyway!)

I feel like I`m banging my head against a brick wall here chaps....the dates quoted for the colours are from the manufacturers book (ICI Colourbox) and that is when the colour was formulated and supplied, if the car was indeed a `72 car then it can`t have been finished in a metallic colour unless it was Lagoon or Aurora, both of which are nothing like what your car is painted in.
My only conclusion is that the car has been reshelled and painted in the colour of the donor car which gave up it`s interior and trim or someone is playing silly buggers

Changing the subject a little, this was taken a couple of years back, Darren with his Rhiengold TC. The interior was re trimmed in ochre leather.

All Jubilees had cloth seats and headrests tho Frank? From what I know Andy's is all vinyl non headrest?
Sure I've got it somewhere stating met paint vinyl roof and cloth seats were all updated at the same time.

That is quite correct Gaz, that is why this car is so strange, nothing fits for the paint job it has been given

Definitely not the only one, I'm hoping to do something for the club website with colour charts and interior trims on it. Think I will need Frank's help for that
Back on topic- I didn't think that Andy knew for definite whether the original colour was metallic or not? Mind you it doesn't look very close to any non metallic colours
Maybe it had been resprayed into a non BL colour years ago and the new colour is close to that colour

Was this during the strike -prone years, when they had to make do with whatever they hadn't run out of?
Pity they didn't fit a build plate with the paint and trim codes, like some other companies did.

Maybe the colour he was matching it to wasn't even the original colour to start with?

Blimey we seem to be going round in circles here! thanks for everyone's input though, just found colour charts on website, according to that Rhine Gold and Brazil were available as Frank has said 73 through 75 so this does fit, although like Gary I also thought this was a late mk1 colour around N 75, when the cloth seats and tinted glass came in,
I don't believe its re bodied Frank, it has original early front and rear valances and lots of other bits that if you went that far you would update, only my opinion
I've also heard of cars being ordered through the factory employee scheme where a lesser model was ordered but when it went through it was changed to suit the taste of the employee! usually to a higher spec than the order sheet! so its not surprising some cars have different bits fitted that are not standard! wonder if this goes as far as colour? Why not? Iknow a lot of pushbikes and other stuff came out of there in BLMC colours!!
As said thanks for all your input
Andy
