Fitted good s/h rear brake drums obtained from Maestego via Ebay. The old drums had cracks between the wheel stud holes (presumably caused by someone overtighening the studs?) and also had bits broken off around the edges (caused by someone trying to remove the drums by smashing them with a hammer!!).

removed my leaking radiator and knackered exhaust (what a job that was) and flushed the rest of the cooling system, power washed the engine bay and whilst the car was up on the ramps had a good look underneath and it's safe to say I don't need to touch the welder with this one, a few bits of paintwork to touch up here and there get the new exhaust and radiator back on and away we go...
that'll ding dang do for me !!

I finally got round to swapping the dizzy clamp for the one off the TC lump, the one on there was a cheap looking one that came with the electronic converted dizzy and I'm hoping that's what was letting the timing keep slipping, and the fairly regular failures to start. If that doesn't work I'll swap the whole dizzy and we'll go back to points for a bit. Did go for a jaunt to the scrapyard in the sunshine yesterday though 8-)
