Not sure if I'm bringing the van again or the estate this year, plenty autojumble to bring down just depends on how many passengers I have.

No work done on the pick up today as Reynards exhaust snapped in half lol. I have finally bit the bullet and ordered a stainless system for him however that will take a few weeks to arrive so in the meantime I have decided to repair Reynards exhaust. Fortunately I have some scrap sections of exhaust lying around so I can at leat get it all back together again. The middle box has been patched with fresh metal so hopefully that will be leak free when I put it back on. The rear box was kaput so thats binned and a good second hand spare is ready to replace it. Tomorrow I will hopefully have Reynard back up and running. One thing I could really do with is the clamp where it attaches to the gearbox and exhaust. Does anyone know where I can source this bit from? Failing that I'm sure I will conjure up something up

Where did you get your reconditioned prop from?
I have a similar problem and it may also be causing a bit of judder
Cheers,
Paul.

I have used Reco-Prop in Luton - v. Good. I expect that there is someone more local to you though.

I found out it is owned by my late fathers cousin!
Bobs your Auntie
I did mean the whole prop. my centre bearing is new ish but slope in sliding joint and may be diff so causes a bit of jitter on pull away sometimes.

Hello Paul, I took my old propshaft to a place in Sheffield called (wait for it...) "Propshaft Greno" located in a district called Grenoside. They are a very old establishment who also do most automotive engineering work such as recutting valve seats, re-bores etc. I took it in Friday after work and it was all ready for Tuesday. It made a massive difference to my car as one of the UJs was totally shot with rusty needle rollers, not only was it causing juddering, i could feel the car wobbling as if it was running on three cylinders!

Glad it has made a great difference. It may be what I have had as I know the sliding joint is loose but all UJs and centre fine

My A60 used to judder quite badly until I replaced the UJ's

Assuming you've got a circlip type propshaft (not stake/crimped) then with some suitable sized sockets and a vice or at a pinch a good G clamp, you should be able to change the needle bearings yourself. The biggest problem usually is getting broken circlips out - it is doable.
