I reckon theres heaps of people out there like us, who's cars dont really fit in to the clubs! I mean I think modified cars are fine, and ratty daily drivers.
It doesn't need to be standard or mint, I think working, or worked on is enough, what do you think

The more I think about this it seems a good idea, I really need a date to get my car finished by anyway, so April next year sounds good to me.
Any idea where you want to hold it? And who's up for it? We can all meet up somewhere, like a campsite or something for a weekend, maybe some driving comps?
I'm quite happy to make up a couple of trophys 8)

top half of the north would be best - easy for deros like me to afford.

i personally like ratty dailys more than pristine show cars. means you can be less paranoid and actually park in the pak'n'save lot without fear.

yep Camino Gold T.C (but mine is an auto)
interestingly mine had the same wheels as yours, pretty cactus after sitting for 26 years
luckily sourced a set of genuine factory mags for it.
also nearly all of the T.C gear was off it (due to a big accident AFAIK) to which i only have to put the carbs back on
after i port the manifold

New Zealand Motor Corp had several plants around NZ. Read about it here.

In 1971 :-
· Dominion Motors, at Newmarket, Auckland
· Dominion Motors Commercials, at Panmure, Auckland
· AMI, at Petone
· Standard Triumph/ Leyland Commercial, at Nelson

1972 - The Newmarket plant started to assemble Australian-sourced Morris Marina packs.
1974 - Panmure started to build Austin/Morris Marina 1.3-litre, 400kg van to replace the Morris Minor Panel van. It was available in white only, with blue trim.

The Newmarket factory is still standing (corner of Mortimer Pass and Coventry Ln), complete with the Dominion Motors name, but is likely to be demolished sometime as part of the Westfield 277 mall expansion. Currently used by Book Barn and Farmers Home Centre.

Could be an option for a meeting place/show?

There may be more breakdowns, but count me in

mine has already been for a boat ride. going back to the mainland would be cool, but i doubt if finances would allow it.

BL was formed in 1968 (BMC in 1952). An excellent series of articles on the UK motor industry's merger history at AROnline.

That was a suprisingly good account of the formation of BL, really makes me wonder what the original design of my coupe would have looked like?
Any thoughts of what a NZBL club should be like?

anything 68 on is fine by me.

what sort of clubs are there around already? i'm sure most wouldn't have anything against princesses, metros and marinas - just that they are more into their minors or a40s. guessing it's a generational thing - when i was a kid my parents had a belmont, grandparents a sunbird. that's why i mostly like 1970 era cars.
