Thing is, if the car is to have a full respray into blaze wouldn't the vinyl roof have to come off anyway? I suppose it could be masked, but would that spoil the paint job?

Really easy to mask off. Has a natural line to work with.
Mine was done ok.

If I was spraying it I would remove lower moulding on C pillar at base of vynil and mask to edge of roof and on the A post would carefully peel it back about 3/4 inch and mask the masking lines would not be seen once the moulding is re fitted at rear and the roof re glued at the A Post

Cool, just a matter of personal taste then.

Looking again at the description of the car on the auction site, it says it had a new vinyl roof fitted in 2015. So I suppose it would be a shame to get rid of it.

My white saloon TDT had a vinyl roof before my ownership but it didn't go down the A pillar, it stopped at the top window frame. Not sure if it was fitted from new but from the photos I have (taken around 2001) it looked professional.

They often stopped just below top of windscreen to save on vinyl material. Loads of vinyl was wasted on mine for rear and front screens plus the sunroof

As a matter of interest, how much did yours cost Paul? If you don't mind me asking? Or how much are they in general if you don't want to be specific?

From memory it was about £300 fitted and made.

As i said lots of wasted vinyl as the sunroof was trimmed to match but could not use the piece cut out for the hole as it would be to small so another piece was used. Sunroof was done by another person as it required a fair bit of skill.

Cool, i suppose having the sunroof would've added a fair bit to the cost as well compared to a plain steel roof?

The Britax Weathershield sunroof was fitted 2 years after the car was built. When BL fitted vinyl roofs often the metal underneath was only in primer sometimes. But re trimming the Jubilee roof did cost a bit but the vinyl had to come down the A pillars to look right.
