The MOC in Christchurch has members with various BMC types - check their cars here;
http://www.mocsi.org.nz/cars.html
We do combined 'BMC' runs with other clubs - great way to swell the numbers, and we're all related anyway;
http://www.mocsi.org.nz/events.html
Unless you have a club with enough members to add up to fun events, it only takes a few dropouts and you only get two or three cars per run.
You would probably find a club wanting members exists already in the BMC line.

what sort of clubs are there around already? i'm sure most wouldn't have anything against princesses, metros and marinas - just that they are more into their minors or a40s. guessing it's a generational thing - when i was a kid my parents had a belmont, grandparents a sunbird. that's why i mostly like 1970 era cars.
I'm a 1970 era guy, that's why I like 1970 era cars

. Can't afford $20k+ for a good Charger

or $40k+ for a good Falcon Hardtop
The
Morris Register is based in Auckland - they might be a good starting point.

I'm a 70's era guy myself and I completely understand how Chargers and Falcons, etc are above the reach of most of us.
Good thing I'm in to Marina's too then eh?
I fully agree that it takes quite a few cars to be in a proper club, I just fancy a bit of a get together with some of the more uncatered for BL machinery, and since its going to be the 40th it would be great to see if we can get a bit of intrest in doing something, especially if they are going to demolish the old Newmarket factory.
It would be great to take a couple of cars and get some photo's inside before its gone.
And hey lets look on the bright side if there's only a couple of us, I'll treat ya all to fish and chips and a round of beer
I'm actually up for a roadtrip to Nelson too if you South Islanders fancy it?

I was going to suggest Nelson, but didnt wanna sound selfish
I'd definetely be up for it, just depending on when as I may not have a car to drive.
Problem with doing it at this time of the year is that I (and maybe charliesafari?) won't have our cars finished, which (for me at least) would ruin a lot of the experience

Oh ye of little faith, mine shall be fit for the ball
I reckon if we pull our fingers out we can do it, so Nelson then? Maybe?
Dont forget you could buy the other ozzy marina and get that going?

two diagrams.
i would be pretty keen to 4x4 the van. there's usually a rough gypsy going for a steal on trademe every other month. think it is a good idea. needs to be done right [not just chucking the shell on a landcruiser chassis] and needs to stay Austin. plus it would give me the excuse to blast uriah heep at all times.

Awesome!!!! Uriah Heap, haven't heard them in ages
Speed King by Deep purple for me!
Trust me, after driving a Gypsy you really want to go landcruiser/hilux they are so much more advanced! But obviously the way to go is Range Rover, V8 and British Leyland
That would be a sight to see 8)

This is one of norway-triumphs many Marinas.
It has Toyota axles with new 5:7 to 1 diff's, Toyota 5 speed gearbox, Ford Essex V6 3100cc engine rebuilt 20k miles ago, new Weber carb, K&N filter, lumenition sportsman ignition. Black glass in rear doors, Recaro seats, fully carpeted inside including the back floor sides and roof. Rancho 4" lifted springs (modified) Procomp shocks, twin steering shocks, power assisted steering, Twin 2" exhaust with cherry bombs (sounds awesome at 3000 rpm) 44x18.5x16.5 Ground Hawg tyres on 14x16.5 steel rims.
