Had a suprise this morning when I got in the car! Interior light worked!! I adjusted the tappets after work too. They were pretty much spot on so that must be a good sign I guess!

if i remember correctly the track control arms are adjustable on the inner joint, like mini top and bottom ball joints.
might be worth taking it apart and cleaning and re greasing it.

Its looking a lot better, certainly looks better having the wings painted Any old car will turn heads as the roads are full of bland euro boxes, doesnt have to be be mint condition to get noticed. I have a few old classics and they attract more attention than a 20K Merc, thats what I love about it. Had a Mk2 Cortina a few years back, tatty metallic brown and always had people looking and talking to me

I have only driven a marina camper about 100yds but not driven a Car at all, even though I have 2, mind you neither are on the road.

Hi Philip,

The ball joint on the end of the rack is a consumable, and most motor factors should still be able to get them for you.

Hi Mart, I have just pulled back the steering rack gaitor and the inner joint was seized solid. It was also what was making my squeal at slow speeds. I have freed it off with WD40 and discovered there is a lot of freeplay. It is due its MOT soon so I think it needs a new joint. I can't see any adjustment though? It seems to screw onto the rack but there isn't any nut it is like a circular cap with a groove cut out of it, presumably for a special tool to be used.

Hi Mick, this is the first Marina I've ever driven and I love it. On Saturday I took the head off reground the valves, put new stem seals on and Sunday I drove from Swindon to Prestatyn, about 380 mile round trip. The car went great and engine wise didn't miss a beat. That was loaded up with a spare head and gearbox.
Although doing 50 at 4000rpm for hours on end isn't too pleasant. It needs a respray and a couple of arches welding in but it seems not too bad. I have just discovered that at some point, one of its owners has plastered the wheel arches with rubber panel spray that tears off in great chunks revealing rusty metal. No holes yet though.

Hi Brian, I got a track rod end from a factor a few weeks ago. I didn't realise they did track control arms too I will have a look, cheers.
