Started mine up to check battery and now looks OK
I have noticed what looks like water on the driverside chassis leg on the top under bonnet just rear of the suspension eye bolt nut!
Its odd as there are no pipes to drip there and it has not been out in the wet and it was enough to leave a small puddle on the garage floor as well
It has happened before and I never got to the source of it. Can't for the life of me think if it has tracked along something and dripped down there.
I will check again in the morning.
Not brake fluid and to clear and lite for oil. Its just as though some one has emptied a bottle cap of water on the chassis leg.

Check round the edge of the inner edge of the wing, water runs off the wing, bonnet, windscreen and the panel below the windscreen and into the gutter, if there is a hole anywhere it will run down the inner wing onto the top of the chassis rail.

Chris its been dry for months in the garage. Not sure where the water has come from.
It did stand on the drive way today and got caught out in a stupid 2 min rain shower which arrived from nowhere so had to dry off but no water at all yet
I will keep checking to see if I can find out where it comes from.

Condensation on one of the few horizontal surfaces?

Possible.
I was wondering if the vac servo collected moisture and it somehow leaked, but it would get sucked in to the engine so I doubt that would be it.

Today I got mine MOT'ed for the first time in my ownership and took it out for a short run after getting the tax disc!

I would like to take this chance to thank all who have helped me get the car back on the road where it should be
You know who you are

No shows for this one I doubt! She will be pressed into service to earn her living and when my eldest turns 17 in about 15 months time, she will transfer to him as his first car.
That's the plan anyway .....
Would like to do a few little mods but will be asking about those elsewhere on the forum.
5 speed gearbox would be the very top of the list me thinks!!

My wee ute got de-tarred, a thorough wash with wash'n'wax and it's tyres blackened AND I put some carpet over the rubber floor-mats!
It won't know what's happened to it!!!

Well - after spending several previous days fitting the B series engine from the blue estate into a sandglow saloon..
Then fitting the extra bits like the anti run-on solenoid and the starter relay it needs because the transmission inhibitor switch is not too happy..
I fired it up and began using it - after which it was allowed to join the herd..
Pleased to report it is going extremely well..
Love these cars.!

Oil leak.!
Saw shiny stuff down the left side of the block.
Has to be cam follower cover.
Looked like front one.
Pulled carbs, manifold.
The front cover is the engine breather, and it has an interior corner that is rebated.
So I remove the cork gasket and find it has migrated inside the block on that one corner, allowing oil to leave town.
Now - wash my mouth out with soap - but the Japanese would never have allowed such a hit-and-miss sealing arrangement.!
New gasket fitted with copious quantities of gasket sealant - shellac type - not silicon.
Went for a big blast tonight 50K out of town.
Will check in the morning to see if I was successful...
