Yes Bryan the discs are Falcon.The coil overs are supplementary .If anyone needs to know the coil overs I will be using are Koni 8211.From measurements given to me they should bolt straight on to Ital top arm with @ 5mm clearance to arm,so no need to alter that part.I will be shooting for a spring rate of @200lb,so will get an 80lb spring to use on shock to reach that approx rate required.Now I have measurement of shocks I can complete bottom brackets.

More work on the pick up again today and will continue tomorrow. This weekend I'm concentrating on the load bed area again. So far I've welded up all the holes and ground them flush. There will be no work on the pick up next weekend as I'm off to Blackpool to do some work in a guest house but I'm on holiday when I return for a week so that should result in more progress

I see you have factory P76 wheels - I had a set and gave them to an old guy who has a P76 (surprise-surprise!) and a MArina ute, he is going to (eventually) give me the wheels, dif etc from his ute as it's got all Datsun running gear now.

Yes I have but they were originally going to be for the Force 7v,then when that went south they put them on the Targas.I put them up to the car years ago & was impressed with the look of them on the Marina so there they stayed.

Well...I found an old rev-counter and after a bit of fiddling I (a) got it working and (b) fitted it to the ute- Woo-Hoo!

It has a switch at the back of it, I can only guess it's to select 4,6 or 8 cylinders

I have it on 4 - I THINK (obviously!) so at 30MPH how many revs should it show?

The ute is factory stock.

Picked up a few bits and pieces for both the saloon and estate from that nice Mr Walsingham on Sunday morning, sadly not in a Marina. Sunday afternoon went to visit my good lady's parents, and therefore also Mud, since she's currently holidaying on their drive.

Since the sun was out for once I thought I'd see if she would start, given that it's been 4 months since she last ran & I hadn't so much as charged the battery I had my doubts, but after a few attempts she fired up and even more surprisingly was "all systems go", so we went for a cheeky spin around the block (MOT'd and insured, but not currently taxed ).

Reminded me of how much I enjoy driving these things... Can't wait to get the saloon back on the road, we are making progress in that direction too thanks to Frank and Ben

On 155x13 tyres (same for 175/70x13 or 205/60x13 tyres)
3.63 diff = 1628 rpm @ 30mph (3348 rpm @ 100kmh)
4.11 diff = 1841 rpm @ 30mph (3785 rpm @ 100kmh)
4.55 diff = 2037 rpm @ 30mph (4189 rpm @ 100kmh)

Thanks Bryan - I think I have a 4.55 diff as on a quick squirt out on the open road 100kph was on the 4-grand mark, it was hard to tell accurately as the badly unbalanced tyres shook the crap out of the ute at that speed!!!

BTW: And that's the fastest I've ever had the wee thing!

Today I removed and refitted my front screen - using lots of sealant.

This has to be the worst job you never want to do.
I did manage it ok single handedly, but what a messy bleedin affair.!




I kept at it long enough - in 30 degree heat - to begin to see some signs of order being restored.
Only had enough insert for the top - shall find more this week hopefully.
