 That's most frightened i have ever been on that journey in any car ever, indeed "Christine" was the car from hell that day, driven by The demonically possessed (Cannon Ball) Scurra.

I still remember the look on Plug Grevitts face when i tried to wrestle the steering wheel of "Spollick" from his hands, untill finally i was over powered,i was banned from ever traveling in the front seat of any of the lads cars from that day on zzzzzzzzzz

I dont know what you mean about my cars pin point handling.I can only put it down to one of the following reasons.
a-you had to much falling down water the night before.
b-The poor condition of the roads
c-my kingpin remoulds needed more tread drawing on.
d-someone said scream if you want to go faster.
e-i was trying to stop russel from falling asleep.
f- too many bends in the road.
still it takes some driving to gat a marina air born with 5 peaple in it. 8)
im still not as good a driver as jason (is my car ok)

Oh dear Brian, have a sit down mate! You will do yourself a mischief looking at all those FORDS and then I will have to drive SLK all the way up there and vist you in A+E whilst getting very good mpg..!
SLK's front suspension and brakes are again custom.. If you look on the link in my sig you can see the brake kit. The suspension is this:
The torsion bars are removed and replaced with nice shiny coil over dampers. With the engine weighing less than a can of beans I think I can make her handle! Oh and heavy duty trunions are in order! !
Both these photos, this one and the 5 link setup are as fitted to Moggies but are made by my mate at JLH Motorsport so they will be adapted to suit my car.
As for the panel work Bri well if it does return to it's natural source then well I guess I'll have to take a leaf out of Ray's book and re shell the thing
ABS... Now that is an idea... Just let me finish the launch control, shift light, rev limiter, carbon disc brakes and second rear engine first!!
Reveal will be the MMOC National this year!
Oh Bri have you any photos of your own mods so far? Email them over I might be able to offer some assistance! ! Us young chaps do have a thing or two up our sleeves when it comes to Marina modification 8)

ben if you do come a cropper in slk which obviously we don't want ( cause then sam rules the roost

) i know where there is a professional rally prepared marina using parts from bl models only and does 100mph in third gear. i have been promised this car for 4 years and still have first refusal on it, but every time the guy says to come and collect it he has something else on and ain't suitable.

Well i`m not as flash as all you bast**ds!!, i`m going down the Ital set up route with the old Mumford this winter, over Christmas and the new year i have been mostly overhauling the front suspension on the old girl, currently removed all the suspension, and replacing it with new legs, pins swivels, Ital top arms, lower arms with ST lower brackets, anti roll bar , polyflex bushes, goodrich brake hoses, rebuilt calipers and new discs ( courtesy of Gary), that should tighten things up a bit at the front

, i don`t go racing much these days so that will do for me 8) , all genuine leyland parts apart from the bushes and hoses...that should please you Larry

Lovely, back to sensible conversation again !!.
Cheers for that Frank, I was getting mighty chilly out on the "Naughty Step"
Tell everybody on here in your revered opinion is it possible to make a Marina handle to a standard, where if you were, hypotheticaly, putting around 115% more power through the back wheels that the car was designed for, without killing yourself?

Poor old Bri...you don`t half set yourself up for it mate!!

, of course you can make a Marina handle, ST managed it back in the 70`s, so why not now with all the knowledge gained in the last 30 years?, the trick is to make sure you do it all, and don`t just "play" at it

, after all look what Top gear managed to do with Paul Sherwoods old Lada, (with a little help from lotus)

Ah well Brian it will be fun to find out eh? I guess I will just have to fit the tubular cage inside the car just weld the Marina panels on? Or do per the peugeot advert and find a scooby then get an elephant to sit on every panel until it looks like a Marina? I'll have to look into that one....
~Calls 118 ZOO~
Ray,
Let us know the details on the rally coupe, we could build a Modified Marina that uses all original mods! Maybe a Dolly 16v engine this time for extra weight to get the under steer back? !

the coupe has a light weight rear axle, electronic engine components , plastic windows, low retro buckets and the battery is in the boot cause the car was slightly off balance.
