Reinstalling rain gutter/drip rails

I removed the plastic rain gutters from my '75 Austin Marina.....they are apparently the same as those found on later UK Marinas. One was going to drop off into traffic shortly and that would have been fatal. Anyways, one needed some cracks repaired and both were shabby looking, but they came off intact. So I glued the cracks successfully and shot them with chrome paint. They look more silver painted than chrome but they at least look better, and I'm kind of amazed that they've survived this long.

So what's the best way to reinstall them? They look as though they were originally held on by friction only.

Would two sided tape work? Or glue?

They were normally warmed up a bit in water or in the sun and fitted by clipping on. No glue or tape required. If they are old they may not have the grip in them to hold on anymore? If so I guess you could use tape.
The Jubilee in the UK had plastic rain gutter trims but I have since fitted stainless.
I have some straight plastic after market trim for gutters in my loft somewhere. This would fit but does not have the moulded ends like the OEM trim.
