is the electrical connection identical from 1300 to 1800 ?

Im not sure on the mk1 but it was not on my mk3. When I added a rev counter dash, see my brown mk3 Coupe thread. I did do a connection diagram in a thread on here for the early smiths rev counter there are two types RVI and RVC the type will be printed in small letters on the face at the base of the dial
