Hi - new to the forum.
Have been looking for a genuine GT for quite some time (Dad had one in the lat 70's when I was a nipper - SLK203R - Maroon 1.8GT) although it seems they're as rare as the proverbial rocking horse poo. I did see the one that sold at Mathewsons and is now on the market at £5995 although it doesn't quite look like a real GT with some bits clearly missing.
I have come across this though -
https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1203179 which looks like it needs a fair amount of work. Given the dwindling numbers of HL's / GT / Specials, how does this sit price-wise? I've emailed the vendor asking for more info but haven't heard back yet. In terms of welding I'm capable of dealing with most stuff....
Any opinions greatly appreciated.
Cheers Mike

That car has been sold in the last week or so.
It was pictured on Facebook being taken away.
Otherwise a bargain price.
Don’t buy the white ‘GT at £6k. It’s not what it advertises to be!

Hi Balmy, this may be a bit of a long shot to brink to your attention but I have a pristine 1975 Marina in my collection which i am looking at selling as i reduce my collection in anticipation of retirement and down sizing. It is a genuine GT/TC L/H steering.(i.e.)North American spec). It has just over 10,000 original miles and is probably the best one on the planet. If you are interested you may want to look at it on the web by searching "1975 Austin Marina for sale" and clicking on the Bring a Trailer link. I had bought the car in 2012 with just over 9000 miles on it and then sold it to a collector in Portland Oregon in 2014 and them bought it back from him in 2018 (I live in southern Alberta, Canada). the car has never been winter driven and in unbelievable condition. If you are interested in additional information please contact at
dgkusick@gmail.com and I would be happy to discuss it with you. Cheers from Canada!

If anyone else in the forum is interested or may know someone who might be please pass the information on to them. Cheers ti everyone in the UK! Stay safe!
