Air filters gfe1005 type

Post by ScreamingLordStokes » Thu Apr 16, 2020 11:43 pm

GFE 1005 style air filters aren't as easy to come by as they used to be. None of the motor factors that i go to can supply them any more. Now, i know that Rimmer Bros do them as they are used on Dolomites but they are 12 quid plus p&p. They do crop up on ebay, again not cheap anymore (except TC ones which seem both plentiful and cheap) most are well over a tenner, plus postage. One has just been listed: £14.99.
Now being down to my last nos Unipart one, i thought i'd try to find a supplier and came across In-line Filters:

Ok,ok shipping is 6.95 per order, but the filters are cheap £4.73 plus vat. I bought 5 filters for a grand total of £36 inc vat and postage, just over £7 each delivered. Obviously a bigger order would be better value as the postage stays the same.
The filters are very similar to the Fram CA646 being orange rubber and yellow filter paper.

Ah yes, Motorcraft were the Ford equivalent of Unipart weren't they. I remember the Motorcraft man in the adverts in his white Ford overalls and shades. "Mister Motorcraft" he was called.

Thanks, but i was just pointing out that you can still buy new air filters cheaper than the old stock ones that appear on eBay. That one starts at £9.99 plus £3.45 postage, those from In-Line Filters work out at around £7 including postage, depending how many you buy.

Thanks- didn’t take the point on initially but now understood. I will have a look to see what else they offer which might help with non Marina/Ital classics. Thanks for posting.
