Suspension buffers possible alternative

As you know getting hold of some Marina/Ital only parts these days can be a bit difficult and one of them are suspension buffers.. Ive got a pair stored for my own but wanted to try an find an alternative , so Iv'e been trawling the BL parts bin to try and find something that may do.
I found that classic Mini ones are around half the size of Marinas so 2 in line may well do?.. I bought some to try and compare and at £6.50 a pair if you were to put them in line with a little modification by cutting off a tab and opening/moving the mounting holes ..then its a possibility, especially if yours have all but disintegrated and need an MOT bodge or stopping damage to your car.
