Exhaust

Post by purplecoupe » Fri Jun 22, 2007 10:30 am

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a full exhaust system for a 72 1.3 coupe? I'v been told they are very hard to come by, if so, is there any stainless manufacturers that are reasonable?

Thanks,

Rachel

Hi Rachel,

You can get a stainless system from Earlpart, I contacted the chairman of the MMOC a few weeks ago about this and tried to get MMOC members discounts but he hasn’t even had the decency to even acknowledge my emails!

Earlpart can be contacted on 01773 719504, www.earlpart.co.uk ask for Neil or Phil

Hope this is of some use to you,

Sean

No reply at my end Andy

To be fair I haven’t bought a system for the Marina from earlpart yet. The systems for the Farinas are good with no complaints that I’m aware of. I have delt with earlpart for a few years and they are very good and very helpful, not the cheapest in town but to get a bargain you have to shop around and that goes for anything in life.

That’s great news Andy! Remanufacture is the way forward these days. There is plenty of firms that can manufacture the exhausts but again we are at their mercy when they give us a price. Its great that the club have sourced suppliers and fabricators to make panels for our cars. I can remember when Marina parts were plentiful and cheap but nowadays it’s the total opposite

:?: :?: i think there also were a reply mentioning quicksilver :?: :?:
they are close to leeds, and I've bought several systems from them. it's cut into 3 pieces rather than 2, and also is a bit on the long - but thats just to get your grinder/hacksaw out.

I have just contacted my local supplier, Chester Exhaust Supplies they quoted me £195 inc vat for a full system in stainless for my 1.8 TC coupe. with a turnaround time of about 2 weeks I should imagine the 1.3 system should be a bit cheaper. their number is 01244 372555.

I have 5 remanufactured rear boxes on order. They are taken from a walker pattern and are the streight pipe type. Let me know if you are interested.
