My elderly father bought a morris minor with a marina engine as a project car.

Unfortunately his health has deteriorated quite significantly and can no longer work on the car and i would love to get the car started for him.

I know bits and pieces about cars but have little knowledge however i would like to take on the challenge with hopefully some advice from you guys.

I have attached some pictures of the engine bay i believe the car has been fitted with a marina engine.
I have fitted new spart plugs and distributor cap but there does not appear to be any spark from spark plugs when i try to start the engine. The engine does try to turn over

Most likely corroded points, if you have a thin file, open the points and gently file inbetween them letting spring pressure do the work. That should then fire up in the absence of any other issues.
