Brooklands Morris event today....with piccys.

Post by v6pop » Sun Mar 09, 2008 7:50 pm

What a great day out!!!
Ran out of time in the end, didnt get to see everything there.

Good turnout of Marinas, with a gathering at M&S car park before we set off in force to Brooklands....taking the scenic route(read wrong way!!)to get to the entrance and park in our allocated area(tucked round the back  )

Thanks to Will for bring up the parts for me,a lot of stuff seemed to be changing hands in the car park, almost a mini autojumble!!

We had 18 Marina and Ital's in total! What a turn out! Oh and not one comment about upgrading a Moggie for it's engine.. I did spot a nice Rolls Royce Olympic engine tho... Future plans?

Thanks Stu! It is a work in progress that one. I rebuilt it mechanically last summer with my dad after buying it from it's first keeper. It has had been painted in the past but the stripes are not right! It will be put back to standard later this year after some TLC =). The wheels from SLK do it justice I think so will be staying as I'm getting some new ones! Didn't skip a beat on the 200 mile round trip.

The Austin Marina is owned by Jim's dad Tony! It's called Dorris.

Great day indeed! Thanks to everone who watched my rev counter being installed! Shame it doesnt work, but I have polished the new dash section to match the rest!! Has anyone got a rev counter spare (Frank?) that they could post me?

See you all again soon I hope!

Yeah sorry that didn't work (mines broken as well! Damn things!) I will see if Andy has one kicking about for you.

I am sure Trev loved my comments on his installing it as well, however much he said otherwise
